What about parents?

Please support your athlete and the team as much as possible

Communicate

We will communicate via TeamSnap. Email the Team Director to be invited to TeamSnap. Then, make sure your contact info is accurate and that you are receiving and reading emails & alerts.

Transport

You are responsible for transporting your athlete(s) and equipment to and from practice and races. Coaches want to help as much as possible but have limited seat-belt and bike capacity. We do want to make sure everyone can attend and we encourage carpooling as much as possible.

Volunteer

This is a sport that could not function without volunteers. That actually gives parents some unique opportunities to be involved with their son/daughter, their teammates, other families, and teams throughout the state.

Practices

Parents are welcome to ride with the team if they complete the new coach steps on the registration page. Those who become a Level 1 coach by June 1 will receive a customized Biting Goat Coach shirt and will receive a $50 subsidy if they order customized Team Cycling Apparel by May 25th.

Races

Lots of help is needed on race weekends. A little effort from everyone helps keep it fun for everyone. Our team will have a meeting in July or August to discuss race weekends. We use a shared google sheet to help coordinate: carpooling; head counts for shared meals; Team Volunteers to help with pre-rides, shared meals, mechanic station, etc; Idaho League Volunteers to help with League-specific needs.

Volunteers Welcome

We have a lot of fun together! We have about 70 student-athletes on our team and 30 coaches who travel, play, camp, and eat together. Everything is run by volunteers and there’s a lot of behind-the-scenes work to make things run smoothly. Please contact our Team Director (email at bottom of this webpage) if you’re willing to volunteer time or skills to help the team.
